I am a shoe fanatic &&& I tend to lust over many types of shoes but I must admit that lately it really takes a lot for me to get excited about a pair of shoes. I guess that may be because I spend a lot of time searching the web & visiting stores all over the city looking for the newest trends and the best knockoffs....I guess at times that all gets a little repetitive.

The video below features a 16 year old girl named Cher Lloyd who auditioned for
the show X Factor recently.

So what drew me to this video was the fact that Cher walked out on to the stage and said she was going to sing ” Turn My Swag On by Soulja Boy” but the “Keri Hilson Version”.

I then prepared myself to laugh hysterically because I figured this wouldn't end well....

But to my surprise Cher killed it!

Meet Coco & Breezy...

Coco & Breezy are 19yr old twins who design & hand make

their own couture eye wear line "Gemela Amor".

I happened to stumble upon Coco & Breezy while on Facebook. I had never heard of them prior to that but I decided to add them simply because we had a lot of mutual friends.

&&& then a few days after, I spotted a picture of R&B singer Ashanti rocking a pair of shades made by Coco & Breezy.

I checked out their website and became an instant fan of their line. What I like about "Gemela Amor" is that the designs have a very industrial feel and every single design is unqiue.
Right now there seems to be this crazy amount of people making eyewear but they all seem to fall short of the creativity that Coco & Breezy's line embodies.

I also am very inspiried by their story. Recently moving to NYC to pursue their design dream full time, the sisters work together to make their eye wear and have managed to do it all by themselves by hustling &&& grinding their line to several people in the fashion industry.

With celebrities like: Ciara, Ashanti, Kelly Osbourne, Amber Rose, and more rocking ‘Gemela Amor by coco&breezy’, they are definitely going to be the ones to look out for in the year to come!

I really really can not get over how cool Willow Smith is!

She's so intriging to me...First it was her semi-shave hairdo, then her rocker chick style & now it's her newest song "Whip My Hair" which to me sounds a whole lot better than pop singers who are twice her age.

All of this at the age of 9?! That means she's just getting started right? Sheesh!

I mean let's not add the fact that she issss the daughter of Will & Jada Pinkett Smith, but Willow is definetley not your average 9yr old girl!

At her age with such kickass style, talent &&& star power I see her future looking really bright. I'm about to don a t-shirt with TeamWillow, hope she never let's me down! <3

Goodness...are we really already in the month of April?!

&&& why does it matter that we are in the fourth month of the year already?

Well maybe it doesn't even matter to you, but for me that means there's only one more month until my 21st birthday.

The horrible thing is that I don't even feel excited about turning the big 2-1!

&&& that's so crazy because every since I was like 12 years old...I freakin wanted to be 21 sooo bad!

But now that it's almost here I quite frankly don't even care.

The only thing is that I will be old enough to bar hop & dance my ass off at niteclubs...but then again every since I turned 18 I been doing that = /

I guess for me an approaching birthday reminds me of the fact that I am getting older! I feel like Bella from Twilight & her resentment of turning a year older on her birthday.

Please don't get me wrong, I like---no as a matter of fact I LOVE birthdays.

But damn it's just annoying me that I'm getting older because with a new age comes new responsiblities, new problems...basically what I'm trying to say is a whole crap load of new b.s.

&&& oh gosh do I hate B.S. !

However despite my fear of having B.S. I know that I will be going into 21 with a job, a really good boyfriend, cool friends, & a supportive family.

So whatever I will suck it up & roll with the punches.

&&& besides a birthday is a great excuse for a new pair of shoes...(Louboutins in a size 38 please <3)!

Everything old is new again---well in the fashion world that is.

I've noticed that this season some of fashion’s trends have looked to the 1990’s for inspiration and with that said combat boots by Doc Martens are officially hot again!

And for 2010 the Dr. Martens trend has finally crossed over into the mainstream; their not just for emo kids anymore.

From famous celebs to chic fashionistas, everyone’s starting to rock Doc's combat boot.

Last week I went with my boyfriend to a shoe store & he tried on a pair in navy blue and I beagn to wonder if this trend is really wearable?

Personally, I’m not crazy about the boots on their own, they look very clunky and uncomfortable. However, for some reason I have decided I just may jump on the Doc Marten bandwagon &&& get myself a a shiny black pair.

I feel like Doc Martens worn with the right outfit somehow looks completely fresh, cool, and can put a unique twist on a simple outfit.

Everyone who knows me knows I have an obessesion with models.<3 I have a few models who I adore but my favorite model by far is Freja Beha! What drew me to her was her boyish cropped hair, her strong features and her tattoos! I discovered her after watching a Balmain show in 2008 & ever since I have been a Freja stalker (in a good way) = )

Freja Beha Erichsen (who often goes by just Freja Beha) was born in Roskilde, Denmark. Freja says she always had plans to be on the stage, however, as a youngster she thought it would be as a rockstar rather than as a supermodel. Her musical aspirations ceased in her early teens when Freja realized she couldn't carry a tune. "I shouldn't even sing in the bath," she confesses.

Freja was educated at Frederiksberg Gymnasium and was discovered on the streets of her native Denmark by a modeling agent passing by in a taxi. "When I was 15, I did a little modeling as a summer job. I didn't think it would become anything serious, but the little jobs led to bigger jobs and two years later I was walking down the catwalk for Prada."

Her world debut as a model came in 2005 at the Fall Milan and Paris shows where she walked for Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu, opening for the latter. She proved to be a natural. And the people are so nice." The backdrops for the shoot included a big wooden barn. "I've never seen such a beautiful barn in my life," he enthused.

Although she earns a living modeling high-end designer clothes, Freja discloses that her personal taste is considerably simpler. "Give me a tank top and some jeans and I'm very satisfied," she says. "High heels are for working." One of the things that sets Freja apart from the rest is her fondness for tattoos. She currently has 13 in total, and got her first one at 16 completely spontaneously: a graphic design low down on her stomach. Freja had passed by a tattoo parlor late one night, and simply decided right then and there to get something done.

Her tattoos include a star under her arm, a gun on the inside of her upper left arm, three circles on her wrist, and various bits of writing, including two phrases: "This world tonight is mine," which comes from a PJ Harvey song ("my version of carpe diem"), and "This too shall pass" ("obviously I was going through some stuff when I had that done"). She also has the word float ("as in float through life, don't sink") on the side of her neck. "I just like getting them done," Freja explains. "I like the whole process, especially coming up with something you want, which never takes me long. Like the revolver. That's not a heavy symbol for me. I like guns and I think the design is pretty, and once I have an idea, I have to go there. I'm definitely hooked on getting tattoos."

When asked what the designers think about her tattoos, "Nobody has minded so far, I don't think," she says, "but then they weren't in obvious places at the beginning. They were easily covered. Still, I did make a deal with my agent about a year ago: She said I could get as many tattoos as I wanted as long as I didn't cut my hair." However, now she has distinctly visible tattoos and a short, boyish crop! "I just felt like it," she says of her hair, "and so I cut it myself. I don't think it affected work either way."Besides modeling, Freja also enjoys music and writing lyrics in her spare time. "I really like women who can express themselves through music," she says.

Oh la la take a looksie at this beauty, the Mulberry Alexa tote...I think it is a spectacular bag!

What I like about the Alexa is that it's slouchy and casual &&& it's named after my favorite British stylista Alexa Chung! If you haven’t heard tell of this bag yet, you will. Speculated to be the newest “It” bag, the Alexa has already sold out on NET-A-PORTER after being added just last week.

Although restock of the bag is supposed to take place very soon, I doubt I will get to have this lovely creation...it's bit out of the price range for my small little bag budget.

But anywhoo I can still adore it via my cpu screen can't I?

NYFW:The Vessel by Lois.

Since NYFW is wrapping up I wanted to share a little bit about attending my very first Fashion Week Show in NYC.

I was given the great opportunity by my friend & fellow blogger Amber of Beauty&The Street to work as an intern for a designer by the name of Lois Samuels (pronounced Loy). Lois is a former model and her collection which is called The Vessel. Upon first seeing Lois' collection I was reminded of school uniforms and outfits I seen on women when I visited the Amish country. Although, the pieces are far from my personal style, I truly did appreciate her aesthic; I feel that she designs very sophisticated pieces that are brillant.

The show took place on a Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately it was a few days after a NYC blizzard so I had to trek downtown through plenty snow to reach the venue at 10 AM sharp.

When I arrived I was greeted by a hairstylist who for some odd reason thought I was a model. I was sooo flattered by this because only in my wildest dreams would I be mistakened for a runway model (I'm only about 5'5). I made my way to find the designer Lois who was busy rushing around & giving everyone orders. Therefore, I jumped right into seating arrangements with the other interns. This didn't last too long when Lois asked me to go around &&& take attendance for all the models. For some reason this was very nerve racking to me. It was bad enough I felt terribly shy around these tall svetle runway beauties and now I had to actually talk to them?! I got over it of course when one of the models was extra friendly to me.

Afterwards, Amber, Ebony (her sister) and I tried our best to snap a few good pictures of the models practicing and the all the prepping that was going on. Now it was about an hour & a half to go when the show's stylist needed Ebony and I to go to the store to grab random items such as Sharpies, black tube socks, and lint rollers. We walked 4 avenues in search of a store, when we finally find what we need, we realize that we're drenched from the snow & our hair is wet...not such a good look when your attending a fashion show!

However, we made our way back this time in a taxi cab and rushed to fix ourselves up because it was 30 minutes until showtime.

When the show started my excitement was at an ultimate high to finally see the models walk so gracefully in Lois' clothes. I loved all of the shirt dresses, this really eye-grabbing red cashmere sweater and my favorite as well as my friends' was a stunning royal purple cape. Overall it was a great show and as an aspiring designer it was a very rewarding experience.
This was a great begining to my future in fashion and hopefully someday I will have my own collection shown in NYFW and can offer a young woman the same chance Lois gave me to help with her show.

Oh such an energetic collection for Fall! Very sexy and naive at the same time...

I guess you could say that is Proenza Schouler signature!

My favorite pieces from the collection were the thigh-high tights &&& also the high-waisted skinny jeans that had this cool graffiti print!

The denim was made in collaboration with the denim label J Brand.

I think that the scribble motif was very eye-catching &&& it's what made me adore the collection.

Ever since last NYFW I have been very fond of Erin Wasson x RVCA.

I like the fact that her collections scream...Viva la grunge goddess!

Well, this season the models were styled very kooky but still sexy.

I loved the crimped and braided hair! I also noticed that every models' makeup consisted of a single feathery eyebrow..very cute & orginal.
Overall the collection was a great mix of nature and a bit of futurism.

Kudosss*** to Miss Wasson she's definetely my favorite model turned fashion designer.

Kanye West seems to be really trying to build up a reputation as a high fashion designer...

the greatest entertainer turned fashion designer 'of all time'(lolz just a lil Kanye VMA tantrum humor)

First he collaborated with Louis Vuitton for a sneaker collection and now he's partnered up with French Luxury brand Goyard best known for their high-end accessories.

Kanye's exclusive Robot Face backpack, features Goyard’s signature “Chevron” (Y) print along with a ‘K’ and ’star’ symbols. Unlike the Louis Vuttion collab, it is currently unknown whether or not this Goyard backpack will be released to the public.

For some reason I’ve got a feeling this is just exclusively for Kanye, and I doubt an authentic Robot Face backpack will turn up for the public to purchase any time soon.

What's On My Mind...

It's been awhile since I've blogged. &&& now that I think of it I really don't have any good excuse for the lack of posts. = (

I guess I just just let that thing we call life get to me. I've been feeling kind of down because of missed opportunitues as well as decisions regarding my education that I made that I'm feeling may have set me back.

Butttt I decided that no matter what I'm doing or not doing...I just need to stop coming down sooo hard on myself!

What helped me do that was to look in retrospect.

When I looked back on the yr 2009 I think about all the new opportunities &&& all the cool people I met that I never knew before. I did things I never thought I'd do &&& encountered some things that I never imagined were coming my way. There was alot that I thought was a curse almost like some sort of punishment but then I always tell myself that the worst things are almost always blessings in disguise.

I believed in the saying "this too shall pass". & I kept my faith.

Besides having strong faith the most productive thing I did in 2009 was to let go of people that were holding me back from being great. I really had to muster up sooo much strength to do so.

I was wasting my time & energy on people who didn't even deserve me in their life. I was seriously giving my all &&& being my best for people who didn't do the same for me.

Why should I spend my lifetime making an apology about who I am to someone that doesn't deserve me?

Or why should I go to great lengths to disprove false statements &&& opinions about me?

I am strong, independent, loyal & loving and anyone who doesn't see that in me & claims to be a friend or a loved one truly doesn't deserve me.

I haven't made any new posts in a while because I went on vacation. I flew out to Puerto Rico for a few days. &&& let me just say that my trip to PR was awesome!!! It was a family trip & also my mom's wedding...so I definetely did enjoy myself. Puerto Rico is beautiful, the weather almost everyday was around 80 degrees & right now it is the winter season. If this year’s mild summer is any indication of the future of New York's weather forecast, I'm predicting we may have a harsh winter. The bright side of this all is that trendsetters all over the city can use this as an opportunity to stock up on cool winter gear! I am not really a big fan of bubble down coats...their bulkiness makes me depise them at times. However, when it's freezing out a leather bomber will do you no justice= (

I decided to do some reserach on outwear brands and I came across Penfield. Nicki Minaj has made many appearances this month looking really good and I'm really starting to adore her style. I know I may get the side eye for this post but whatever...it's my blog I can post whatever it is that I like = p

Rapper Nicki Minaj seems like a girl who has fun with everything she does from her song lyrics to her style. Forget trying to fit in...this girl is always trying to stand out! &&& although she rolls with a gang mostly of guys from her Young Money Crew she stays true to her feminine side by dressing extra girly.

The reason that I think many people have been hating on her fashion choices is probably because her outfits are usually very risque &&& her two-toned hair would make some say "she can't be serious"?

However, I respect her orginality with her fashion game &&& I'm sure she knows exactly what she's doing. A lot of what she wears are pieces that the average girl could not pull off. If your trying to recreate Nicki Minaj's look make sure to wear your most unique pieces &&& use Barbie as your inspiration. That means a splash of pink, a pair of really high heels, cute hair, glossy lips and let's not forget tons of confidence or as Nicki would say a "bad bitch mentality"!

Fashionistas are You Fur Sure?

The winter is here and as the weather becomes full of frost, stylistas will have to start pulling out their warmest items to save them from the chill. One of my favorite things about winter is wearing faux fur clothing and right now my two faux fur favs from my wadrobe are my hooded bomber & scarf both from H&M.

I also have a real fur coat but I haven't worn it still because sometimes I feel bad about wearing real fur. I am aware of the cruelty involved with the creation of fashionable fur items so at times I feel guilty when I wear fur. &&& I know a lot of people who turn the blind eye to the practice- they probably feel being that we eat animals then why not wear them?

I grew up adoring fur coats and accesories like hats & shawls and I have always thought a woman looks so chic in fur. However, it doesn't seem right to subject animals to cruelty in the name of fashion. With that said, I still don't have a concrete agrument when it comes to this debate. = (

Being that I am an fashion editorial addict whenever I'm going out and need inspiration for an outfit I usually open a high fashion glossy for inspiration. This particular outfit was inspired by an editorial titled "High Maintenance". I was sooo in love with the puff shoulders, the hot pink booties and the combo of two different animal print is genius <3!

Here's how I recreated the look: I wore a Zara long-sleeved mini dress with a high-waisted belt. A fancy link necklace from Express and Zara leather knee-high boots.

I wanted to rock the fuschia booties (pictured above) which are from Aldo but they felt really uncomfortable so I chose to wear flats instead.

Sooo those of you who read my blog on a regular basis already know I much I adore Rihanna! I believe that she is a certified style icon and she will probably hold that title for many years to come. I don't care what you think of her or her music there's no denying that she has great style! She has fun with fashion and no matter what she's going through, Rihanna always manages to look very chic. Most of the time, her most important accessory to her fierce fit is her confidence and that's why she can make very wierd things sooo look good = )

Miss Fenty is always the one setting trends, just think about how many other starlets have followed suit & swtiched up their style to the 'bad girl' look. &&& if it weren't for Rih a lot of designers wouldn't be known by the public.

I bought these shoes last week from Zara & I am in l-o-v-e with them! I really like to wear heels but sometimes heels can make me feel over-dressed esp. when I'm only going to work. &&& so that's what attracted me to these shoes, the perfect solution to my problem...pow! wedges! What I like about wedges is that when you wear them noone realizes why you appear a few inches taller = ) &&& a pair with laces are casual enough for everyday wear. The other reason why I decided to buy these pair was because they remind me of a wedge style by Chloe take a looksie...
